UN social protection of children

In early 2019, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UNICEF jointly published a report on the social protection of children.

“The report shows the gaps in social security coverage for children, and provides global and national figures,” the authors say. The objective? Show that there is still a long way to go to achieve sustainable development objective 1.3, which is to provide universal protection for children.One in five children in the world still live in extreme poverty (on less than $1.9 a day).
