Integrating pupils with a migrant background in schools in Europe

The Eurydice report, published by the European Commission, examines the measures taken by higher education authorities to integrate pupils with a migrant background into schools.

The PISA survey set up by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2015 highlighted that the proportion of pupils with a migrant background who performed poorly was much higher than the general average in most European countries.

The available information covers 42 educational systems, including the 28 EU Member States. The report also covers regulations concerning primary, lower and upper general secondary education and initial vocational training.
