Employment by sex and age (Eurostat)
The employment rate is calculated as part of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) – which is conducted by sampling private households – and it is the number of people in employment as a percentage of the population in the same age group. Employed persons are those who, during the reference week, worked at least one hour per week for pay or profit, or who had a job but were temporarily absent.
Data is available for every year between 1992 and 2018.
