Economic and social convergence within the EU (Eurofound)
In order to shed light on the debate on convergence within European countries, Eurofund published two reports in December 2018: one on convergence issues (or rather divergence, because that is what it is about) and another on convergence issues relating to the labour market.
The trajectories of countries taken into account are analysed using indicators such as GDP per capita, minimum wage levels or income inequality on the one hand, and employment rates, long-term unemployment, the share of temporary contracts in total employment, etc. on the other. These two reports are complemented by a note on the methodological issues surrounding the difficult identification of converging or diverging trajectories within the EU.
