Quality of the air (EEA)
Every year, the European Environment Agency publishes a report on air quality in Europe . It allows researchers to track the development of pollution on the continent, according to the sector of activity, or even by particle type. The publication presents a very detailed summary of our emissions and puts it into perspective by analysing their impact on our health, our environment and the consequences for public policy.
In addition, for the Clean Air Forum which took place in Paris last November, the Agency launched the European air quality index, which offers a live interactive map of the air quality in European cities.
It is a highly intuitive tool, and, thanks to the 2000 monitoring stations planted around the continent, it is possible to access pollution profiles for hundreds of cities, and follow developments over the course of the last 3 months.
